Syslog Traditional Logging

This diagram illustrates a typical (traditional) network firewall sending its syslog data directly to a text file on a local computer (via syslog server) where later the text file is read (imported) into a syslog reader.

Problem: The syslog text file typically becomes quite large over time and it's impossible to search, sort and report without first importing it into a syslog reader. This takes too much time.

Solution: SyslogIT® will collect network data from the firewall and insert it into an SQL data base on-the-fly. The database can be IMMEDIATELY searched and sorted, reported and printed. SyslogIT also enables "Live" viewing of syslog data in a console window.

  SyslogIT® quickly receives syslog messages.

SyslogIT® saves time monitoring individual computers.
